Adele’s 21: The Inspiration
» He Won’t Go
When I went home after, you know the work on the first album, I got my dog and stuff, I made friends with this couple, who had a Dachshund as well, so we bonded over our dogs. It turned out that the guy in the relationship was a heroin addict and he was about to go into rehab as we all made friends. But it’s about their relationship and it was my take on, if I was in a relationship with an addict. And I know that when I gave it to him when he went into rehab, he loved it. So yea it was about that.
The record was great cause I was a little bit, what I didn’t know how it would end up in the final, I thought it might be a bit kind of over RnB. Cause it’s quiet old school, kind of 90’s. But it’s so minimal and like, gives the space for the story to kind of grieve and get across.
